Discover the clear alternative to getting a straight, healthier smile.Invisalign

If you are an adult in the professional world or even a teen who just started college the idea of getting braces might make you cringe. Don’t worry; you can get a straighter smile with a simple, clear orthodontic treatment known as Invisalign. Our North Royalton, OH, dentists, Drs. Anita and Kevin Robertson, are here to tell you more.

Chances are you’ve heard of Invisalign before, but perhaps the only thing you know about it is that it’s a clear, nearly invisible way to fix misalignments and other dental problems to help you achieve a straight smile. While metal braces can be a good option or those with more complex or complicated dental issues, Invisalign is an effective approach to handling these minor to moderate misalignments such as:

  • Crowding
  • Crooked teeth
  • Spacing issues
  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Open bite

If you are an older teen or adult who has been battling these issues all your life and you feel it’s time you finally had a smile you can be proud of then it’s time to talk to our North Royalton about getting Invisalign.

How does Invisalign work?

Instead of traditional braces, which use metal brackets and wires to help move teeth, Invisalign uses a set of clear, custom-made aligners made out of translucent medical-grade plastic. Since they are customized to fit over your teeth they are comfortable and less likely to cause irritation to the gums.

Each aligner is worn for about two weeks, after which you will replace those old aligners for the next set in your series. As you progress through your treatment you will also see the positive changes occurring in your smile. To make sure that your treatment is effective, you will want to wear your aligners as often as possible each and every day. While they are removable, it’s important that you only remove them prior to eating or before your oral care routine (e.g. brushing and flossing). Wearing them about 20 to 22 hours out of the day should provide you with the ultimate results you’ve been looking for.

Invisalign has helped countless older teens and adults achieve their dreams of the perfect smile and you could be next. Are you ready to find out if you are an ideal candidate for Invisalign? If so, call us today to schedule a consultation with Robertson Family Dentistry in North Royalton, OH.
